The New Horizons Band welcomes all Villages residents who play wind instruments, or who are percussionists. Those who have played little or not at all since high school or college are encouraged to work their way back into playing shape with this band.
Rehearsals take place 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Thursdays at the Mulberry Recreation Center. There are no membership dues, nor are there fees for music. Band members provide their own instruments and are asked to bring a music stand to rehearsals.
The band is affiliated with the New Horizons International Music Project, a worldwide organization dedicated to promoting music-making among senior adults. Their motto is: "Your best is good enough!"
